Professional Caning and Rushing

Our caner has only specialised in caning and rushing for the last 30 years We repair caning and rushing, be it antique or modern. We cane bed head and foot boards, stools and chairs including bergère suites.

Sharing our space with restorers, we are able to match your existing colour of cane to the rest of your chairs so that the new cane does not stand out.
We also repair seagrass chairs / furniture and Danish Cord chairs / furniture.

There are several names for modern caning: Loom Cane; Machine Cane, Machine-made sheet cane, Sheet Cane and Pre-woven cane.

This sheet of rolled cane is forced and glued into a groove around the perimeter of the seat with a spline. This method can not be used on hand caned chairs and vice versa.
